Polynucleotide (PDRN) Mechanism of Action in Periorbital Skin

PDRN (Polydeoxyribonucleotide) is derived from salmon sperm DNA through a proprietary extraction and purification process. The resulting polynucleotide fragments (molecular weight 50-1,500 kDa) act as A2A adenosine receptor agonists, stimulating the salvage pathway of nucleotide synthesis in fibroblasts. This is particularly relevant for the periorbital area, where the thin dermis (0.5mm vs 2mm elsewhere) has lower fibroblast density and collagen turnover. Kim et al.
