Polynucleotides (Eye Rejuran): Biomolecular Skin Regeneration

Eye Rejuran contains highly purified polynucleotide (PN) fragments derived from salmon DNA (Oncorhynchus keta). These 50-2000 base pair DNA fragments act as biological signaling molecules that stimulate multiple regenerative pathways in the dermis. PNs bind to purinergic receptors (A2A) on dermal fibroblasts, activating intracellular cAMP signaling that increases type I collagen gene expression (COL1A1) by 2-3 fold. PNs also scavenge reactive oxygen species (ROS), reducing oxidative stress-induced MMP (matrix metalloproteinase) activation that degrades existing collagen. In the periorbital area, where skin is thin and prone to oxidative damage, this dual mechanism (increased collagen synthesis + decreased collagen degradation) is particularly valuable.
